On March 18th, 2011 the dental clinic was opened to care for adults and children of families in financial need both from within the Village proper as well as from the outside population.

The “Smile project” is an initiative launched in 2007 by a group of dentists in Milan with the aim of serving the real dental needs of these children—educating them and giving them the necessary means for proper oral hygiene—and collecting data for subsequent clinical interventions. The goal is to carry out preventive, conservative-endodontic and surgical activities through technical means and to begin training local dentistry personnel who, at a later date, will be entrusted with the service.

The “Smile project” was realised in March of this year in Partnership with the Rotary Club Monza, Rotary Club Monza Ovest and Rotary Club Milano Sud-Est, Italy, the support of some dental equipment supply companies; the active presence of the Istituto Stomatologico Italiano; the Roberto Bazzoni onlus and a group of caring private sup porters. The clinic was christened “Nonna Mirella” (Grandmother Mirella) from Monza in appreciation of her family’s commendable contribution.
