Kazakhstan, our world
The Ark Village is in Kazakhstan.
One of the ex Soviet republics, having obtained its independence in 1991, Kazakhstan was forced to confront, in the span of a few years, a large series of changes which influenced its daily appearance. For centuries a stopping point on the Silk Road, Kazakhstan still today finds itself on the boundary between Asiatic and European culture, and must find a balance between ancient traditions and modern challenges. And like any other country in such a position, it meets every day a unique set of contradictions and difficulties.
